AYSO United Arizona
National League Premiere 2

USYS National League Teams

USYS National League Premier 2, formally known as E64 Elite RL, is a national platform that is exclusively managed by the USYS National League Staff.

Elite 64 is an elite performance tier of the US Youth Soccer National League competition. It will kick off in the fall of 2025 and provide club-based competition for the top girls’ youth soccer clubs in the United States.

This league includes play for our girls’ teams only in the 13U through 19U divisions.

In addition to our regular league play, the NLP2 teams will be comprised of the top players in our club in each of the age groups who will be playing 11 v 11 soccer in the 2025-2026 season.

“We are incredibly proud to announce AYSO United Arizona’s acceptance into the USYS Regional E64 League. This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our players, coaches, staff, and families, who continually strive to make AYSO United the premier youth soccer program in Arizona. Their hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence have paved the way for this opportunity, and we look forward to competing at the highest level while staying true to our values of player development and community.” David Thomas, National Director for AYSO United.

“We are so appreciative of this opportunity to showcase some of the talent we have on the girls’ side of AYSO United in Arizona. Our acceptance into this platform is due to the hard work of our United players, the excellent work of our coaches, and the tremendous support of our national staff.” Ed Alameda, Director of Coaching for AYSO United in Arizona.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are teams chosen?

After tryouts are completed and players are registered, there will be an evaluation ID session for the top players in each age group. All interested girls may participate, but only the top players will be invited to join the NLP2 team.

We are working with our national league staff to have them send out evaluators to help with the selection process to eliminate any concerns of bias.

Each team can have a player pool of up to 30 girls; however, only 18 may be allowed to dress. Who is selected to be one of the 18 will be a coaching decision, based on availability, training, skill set, and need. Players and parents must communicate with the coaching staff in advance when they will or will not be available, so the game day roster can be completed.

Rosters may be supplemented with players from our sister hubs in New Mexico, Utah, or Southern California. The bulk of the players should come from Arizona.

How are the coaches chosen?

Any AYSO United Coach may be considered provided they submit in writing their interest in being a member of the coaching staff. Per the NLP2 rules, all coaches must have, or be actively working on, their USSF D license to be in the technical area. Once we have received the written letter of interest, we will review current licensing certifications, history with AYSO United, their team’s current league play standing, and their availability to attend all training sessions and matches related to this platform.

Does that mean my daughter will be on two teams?

Yes. They will play on their home team as selected through the tryout process in May. If selected for the team, they will participate in the schedule for the NLP2 league in addition to their home team league. The USYS will work around Advanced League schedules to accommodate teams so they may participate in both.

Will there be additional training sessions involved?

Ideally yes. Outside of their home team’s two sessions a week, we would like to add a third session of training for the NLP2 teams. We understand this may be difficult for some players to attend who live outside of the valley, but this should be discussed with the coaching staff.

Will there be out-of-state travel involved?

No. All of the matches will be local. The only member club outside of Maricopa County is in Tucson.

Will there be additional fees associated with this league?

Yes. There are additional costs associated with the league. AYSO United is responsible for the rental of fields, trainers, canopies, water stations, and Veo machines for every day we host. We may have to purchase additional kit tops to avoid conflicting numbers with team members. The fees will be nominal but will only be included for those girls who earn a spot on the NLP2 roster.

Where will the home matches be played?

We are working with USYS to secure fields either at Red Mountain Park or the Arizona Athletic Grounds.

How often will there be matches, and will they all be at the same location?

There will be 8-10 NLP2 matches. Most of these matches will be in the fall. All six teams will play on the same day at the same location. The league goal is for the matches to be played at 9 am, 11 am, and 1 pm. The goal is for two matches to be played side by side; this way, everyone is finished by 3 pm. There may be only one match a weekend or two. No teams will play two NLP2 matches in one day.

If there are Veo recordings, will everyone have access to them?

Each hosting club is expected to provide Veo recordings, which must be shared with the opposing club. All AYSO United players will be given access to these recordings so they can create their own highlight films. Recordings may also be shared with interested college coaches.

Will AYSO United hold to their 50% playing rule philosophy?

Each team is allowed seven substitutions per half. Those who are substituted may not return in the same half. This means four players will have to play an entire half. During the second half, at least three of those players should be substituted, the goalkeeper may be the exception. In other words, every player on the roster will play both halves.

Are there any other rules I should be aware of?
