Register for 2024 Tryouts

Tryouts Are Just Around the Corner!!

We have been working hard to finish the list of available teams and coaches and want to let you know of some important changes and updates:

• – We were not able to secure a central training location for the Academy Age Groups for next week, so we moved them to Red Mountain on April 29th and May 1st at 6 pm. We have a new coach who will be taking on the 2015-2016 boys’ team.
  
• – We have also added a second 2011 girls’ Open League East Valley team with a new coach as well.
  
• – We are adding a 2013 boys team in the Ahwatukee area with one of our new coaches and the schedule is above.
  
• – We are also hoping to add another 2012 girls’ team in the Ahwatukee area, provided we have enough girls to support the team.

We are going to ask that you come back to this page often for updates and changes as we work towards finalizing everything.

Here is how the process will work when you arrive at tryouts:

When you arrive, please try and be a few minutes early because the initial check-in will be a bit chaotic on the first few days. There will be a check-in tent with a QR code. All trialists, including returning players) will have to complete this sign-in process. This provides us with a confirmation your child attended at least one tryout. You only have to do it once, if you come both days. You will be issued a tryout number, which you must enter into the site so the coach can know which player is yours.

You will get your shirt and tryout number to pin to the shirt, so the coaches know how to identify you. Your player will then be directed out to the field for your age group. If you are a returning player or have already selected which team you want to try out for, you will be told where to find that team.

If for whatever reason you cannot make one of the days, please inform the coaches so they are aware they will have to make their decisions based on one day and not two. If you come back the second night, please keep the number and do not ask for a new one because this will confuse the coaching staff and throw off our attendance numbers.

Please make sure your child has plenty of water, soccer cleats, soccer socks, and shin guards.

A coach may make an offer at any time if he/she feels they have seen enough. If a coach chooses to not select your child for their team, you can ask about other teams within the club if they are available.

If you are selected to play for the club, you will be provided additional instructions about how and where to complete the sign-up process.

The most common question asked is related to costs. This will vary from team to team because some may be Open League and others may be State League. Some teams will participate in more tournaments and some in less. Some coaching stipends will vary depending on the experience and training of each coach. These are questions you should ask coaches when you are having conversations about accepting an offer. You can refer to the “Why United?” page on our website to get an idea of basic costs.
