AYSO United Arizona wants to thank those teams who came out to join us for the 2025 Cup. The safety and security of players, fans, and referees are paramount in everything we do. With this in mind, our tournament format was changed to begin on Wednesday evening on the 24th and finish on Saturday evening on the 27th. The idea is to play most of the matches in the evening, except for Saturday morning. This meant no Sunday matches, so folks could enjoy their Fall break a little sooner.

Unfortunately, we were hit with a once-in-a-decade storm that forced us to shut down the facility before we could finish the tournament.

Working with the tournament team at AAG, we looked at every possible scenario to try and make up matches, but due to limited space and time, we were not able to schedule additional matches beyond those where there was no clearly defined winner.

There is nothing more enjoyable to our team than watching players compete on the pitch and seeing the smiles on their faces as they’re awarded their hard-earned medals. Unfortunately, we were also denied this experience due to the storm.

We hope that, although we were unable to complete the tournament in the way we had hoped, enough of you enjoyed the structure enough to consider returning next year, and that you would help encourage other teams to join us so we can keep this format going.
